Iowa Legislature approves bill for hog farms

May 8, 2013, Des Moines, IA – Iowa hog farmers could enjoy looser state oversight when temporarily downsizing their operations under legislation now headed to Gov. Terry Branstad.
The state House on May 7 gave final approval to a bill allowing livestock producers to be reclassified as small operations by reducing their animal capacity and “mothballing” unused barns. The change would reduce state fees and reporting requirements for manure disposal. READ MORE
