With the 2024 North American Manure Expo fast approaching, it’s always a good time to look back at the offerings of Expos past.

In 2023, when the Expo hit Arlington, WI, attendees got an up-close look at the manure separation process at UW-Madison’s on-site research farm.

Kenneth Janisch of UW Madison’s Arlington Research Station led the tour, which showcased four systems: a flush system, a sand separation system, a discharge system and a solid separation system.”

“We’re trying to save as much of our water for as long as possible,” Janisch explained. “To save our water, that [solid separation system] is a key factor.”

An estimated 3,000 gallons per day is pumped directly to the farm’s manure lagoon.

Witness the technology up-close – and get excited for this year’s Expo, while you’re at it!
