Project to recover nitrogen from pig, poultry manure

November 14, 2016, Spain – A new European research project is aiming to recover nitrogen nutrients from pig and poultry manure during composting and anaerobic digestion, using gas-permeable membrane technology.

The project is called LIFE Ammonia Trapping, and it will be coordinated by the Higher Technical School of Agricultural Engineering Campus of the University of Valladolid in Palencia and with the participation as a partner of the Agricultural Technological Institute of Castilla and Leon (ITACyL).
