Nutrient management workshop in MN for dairy, beef

December 22, 2014, Kenyon, MN – University of Minnesota Extension is presenting a nutrient management workshop designed to aid dairy and beef feedlot producers with phosphorus and nitrogen management strategies.
These workshops will take from 9:30 am to 2:00 pm on the following dates:
- Jan. 21 at the Northfield Senior Center, 1651 Jefferson Pkwy, Northfield
- Jan. 28 at the Steele County Administration Building, 630 Florence Ave, Owatonna
The day will start with a workshop on managing phosphorus in livestock manure by Extension educator Randy Pepin, followed by lunch, a presentation on nitrogen credits from alfalfa and manure by Extension agronomist Jeff Coulter, and a talk on feedlot best management practices by the local county feedlot officer.
