Manure enters Skaneateles Lake tributary in NY

May 5, 2015, Auburn, NY – Approximately 500 gallons of liquid manure made its way into a Skaneateles Lake tributary, according to the state Department of Environmental Conservation.
It’s believed a leak in a pressurized hose carrying liquid manure on the farm was the cause of the spill, or overage. Clean-up crews working with the DEC and the Onondaga County Soil and Water District were successful in capturing most of the liquid manure. READ MORE
