WI township bylaw raises eyebrows

February 1, 2011, Johnstown Township, WI— The town of Johnstown found a loophole in Wisconsin’s livestock siting law.
A new town ordinance that prohibits the application of manure through center-pivot sprayers raised eyebrows at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade and Consumer
Protection, but it does not violate the siting law, department officials said.
