IDEM issues violation notices

June 9, 2009 – The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has
issued a notice of violation to Union-Go Dairy for spilling manure into
Eight Mile Creek.
June 9, 2009 – The Indiana Department of Environmental Management has issued a notice of violation to Union-Go Dairy for spilling manure into Eight Mile Creek.

The violation is alleged to have occurred on July 18, 2008.

The agency also accused the concentrated animal feeding operation of failing to report the spill to IDEM within two hours of discovering it, and of failing to contain or respond to the spill.
