The Idaho House recently passed with a 61-7 vote a bill that would keep under
wraps more information about dairy nutrient management plans, including some of
the information that appears on inspection reports.
The bill, sponsored by
Rep. Judy Boyle, R-Midvale, comes on the heels of a critical report on the
dairy industry that an environmental watchdog group issued using inspection
reports. Nutrient management plans detail how animal waste from large
facilities is disposed of.
