People moves: Curry bolsters sales staff
Ag equipment supplier and rental provider Curry has once again bolstered its sales team, hiring John Brun as its new regional sales manager for the Great Lakes Region (Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Western Pennsylvania). In his previous roles, Brun has received numerous awards and acknowledgments including the Hertz Global Leadership Award in 2011, Presidents Circle Award in 2012 and the Super Sales Representative Annual Award from 2005 to 2012. Other recent sales staff additions for Curry include Southeast region rep Steve Nelson and VP of operations Cory Wilson.
Safety updates
The Government of Canada recently highlighted support of up to $12.2 million through the Emergency Processing Fund for 42 meat processing companies in Ontario. This includes making adjustments to workplaces and process to enable social distancing, purchasing reusable PPE, implementing biosecurity measures, installing protective barriers and developing employee training. Funds are also supporting facility upgrades.
Additionally the Government of Ontario is providing $10 million for farmers and agri-food operators to purchase PPE, as outlined in the recent 2021 budget. Under the current program for agri-food workplace protections, farms and agri-food businesses that hire three or more employees will be eligible for funding. Eligible businesses include farms, hatcheries, transportation, primary processing and more.
