Enviro groups petition EPA over VA farm permits

October 21, 2014, Newport News, VA – Frustrated with what they see as Virginia’s foot-dragging about factory farm pollution, environmental groups are asking the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency to take over the state’s water pollution control program.
The Environmental Integrity Project (EIP) and its partners filed a petition with the EPA last month to get the agency to control and enforce the state’s Clean Water Act permitting program, particularly for large animal feeding operations on the Eastern Shore and in the Shenandoah Valley. READ MORE
