Manure management workshop to be held in PA

February 2, 2015  by Press release

February 2, 2015, Indiana County, PA – The Indiana County Conservation District is hosting workshops to educate and assist farmers in writing a manure management plan for their farm.

The revised DEP Manure Management Manual requires every farm in Pennsylvania that produces or applies manure to develop and implement a written manure management plan. In this workshop, farmers can expect to leave with a nearly complete plan or at least a good understanding of what is required.

Workshops are Feb. 18 from 9 a.m. to noon and Feb. 23 from 5:30 to 8:30 p.m. at the conservation district’s office at 625 Kolter Drive, Suite 8, White Township. The workshop will be limited to a small group to allow for hands-on assistance in plan development. Registration is required by Feb. 13. A $10 deposit is required, which will be fully refunded at the completion of the workshop. Refreshments will be provided.

To register or for more information, contact Brooke at (724) 471-4751, ext. 5, or by email at b.esarey@iccdpa.org.
