– At the urging of some Wisconsin farm groups, state lawmakers have temporarily
suspended a portion of the state’s proposed air quality rules that would
regulate air emissions from agricultural waste – such as manure, litter,
bedding and other animal byproducts.
According to the Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin (PDPW)
newsletter, the state’s natural resources board voted against allowing an
administrative rule change that would have removed agricultural waste from NR
445, 406 and 407. But members of the legislature’s Joint Committee for Review
of Administrative Rules introduced AB 195, which would statutorily remove
agricultural waste from these rules.
