UI scientist makes plastic from cow manure

September 26, 2013, Moscow, ID – Erik Coats, an associate professor of civil engineering at the University of Idaho, and his research group at the have developed a way to generate a significant economic return from Idaho’s dairy industry waste stream by converting manure into a biodegradable plastic.
