Heavy rain in June washes manure off IA farms

July 17, 2014, Des Moines, IA – Flooding in Iowa has washed hog and cattle manure from more than 20 farms, each with thousands of animals.
Iowa Department of Natural Resources records show at least 20 incidents in the last half of June of overflowing manure storage basins or feedlots washed out causing manure to flow into fields, ditches and in a few cases streams. READ MORE
