Residents seek answers after WI manure spill

December 8, 2014, Jacksonport, WI – Too many things went wrong with the spreading of liquid manure on a farm field in early September, Door County’s lead conservationist told more than 100 people attending a recent meeting at Jacksonport Town Hall.

A worker for the contractor hired to spread the manure allegedly erred in applying it. As a consequence, the manure spilled into a sinkhole in the field that was supposed to be avoided, resulting in contaminated wells in a wide area around the site. READ MORE
