Parent launched the Farm Environmental Stewardship Award on Earth Day.

April 23, 2009, Greenwich, NS – Nova Scotia Agriculture Minister Mark Parent launched the Farm Environmental Stewardship Award on Earth Day.

According to a report in the Chronicle Herald, the award is designed to encourage farmers to increase their environmental efforts through better manure storage and handling, the use of nutrient management plans and other efforts. Winners will receive $2000.
