Experience exhilarating tours at the North American Manure Expo
May 2, 2022 by Manure Manager
The 2022 North American Manure Expo is drawing closer.
Held July 13-14 in Chambersburg, PA, the Expo welcomes farmers, manure applicators and other nutrient management professionals from across the continent. One of the most popular offerings of the Expo is the tours.
Attendees can choose between two tours to enhance their learning on the first day of the Expo.
Robotic dairy and new poultry layer tour: This tour will stop at a dairy that has recently installed robotic milking, feeding and manure collection technologies. The second stop will be at a never-before populated large egg layer farm currently under construction. The layer farm will use innovative manure handling practices, including belt drying and centralized manure collection. This tour is a rare opportunity to view the barn without any biosecurity concerns.
Stream tour: This tour will explore the impacts of excess nutrients on a local stream as well as providing hands-on opportunities for attendees to assess stream health and the benefits of buffers and other practices.
Act 49 certified hauler/brokers and Act 38 nutrient-management plan writers can receive 3.0 CEUs from attending either tour.
Space on these in-demand tours are limited and pre-registration is required. Bus transportation and a lunch voucher are included with tour tickets.
