California biogas plant honored abroad

It was a big week for biogas and for renewable specialists Anargia Inc.

Anaergia’s facility in Rialto, California received a distinction award for Wastewater Project of the Year at the Global Water Awards 2022 at a ceremony in Madrid.

The $185 million project is one of North America’s largest organics processing facilities and converts both biosolids and organic waste into 985,000 MMBtu of RNG and fertilizer per day. The facility’s net carbon dioxide emissions reduction is approximately 220,000 metric tons annually, equivalent to taking nearly 47,500 cars off the road.
