WA compost company needs more manure

September 18, 2012, Walla Walla, WA - A company that sells composted cow manure says business is so good that it needs more manure – lots of it – particularly from dairies in Yakima County.
Organix moves more than 100,000 tons annually. It buys manure from 20 Yakima County dairies and composts it at the dairies in windrows for 90 days. Lighter compost is sold to landscapers from Spokane to Seattle, Portland and Boise and everywhere between. Heavier compost is sold mainly to row crop, tree fruit and grape growers in eight counties surrounding Yakima County, Davis said. READ MORE
