Supervisors hold hearing on plans for duck farm

held a conditional-use hearing on a plan to raise up to 191,000 ducks.

March 12, 2011, Reading, PA – Upper Bern Township supervisors recently held a conditional-use hearing on a plan to raise up to 191,000 ducks.

Michael A. Werner, environmental coordinator for Mountain Breeze Farms Ltd., testified the operation would be similar to a farm the company owns near Bernville, PA. That one holds about 58,000 Pekin ducks, which are primarily for egg and meat production.
