New bill would regulate out-of-state manure

Richmond, IN – State Rep. Tom Saunders (R-Lewisville) filed House Bill 1134 on
Thursday in an effort to curtail the staging and spreading of manure generated
by confined feeding operations.

by confined feeding operations.
Manure produced
out-of-state that is brought into Indiana does not have to be spread or staged
according to Indiana regulations. HB 1134 would require confined feeding
operations to do the following, no matter of where the manure was produced.
