Netherlands: Nitrogen and phosphate production from manure below ceiling

In 2022, total nitrogen excretion from animal manure in the Netherlands amounted to 467 million kg. This represents a decline of 0.8 percent on the previous year and is 4.6 percent below the nitrogen ceiling in place for 2022. Phosphate excretion amounted to 150 million kg. This is 1.6 percent more than one year previously and 0.2 percent below the phosphate production ceiling.
