MD ag secretary opposes bill on phosphorus rules

February 6, 2014 – For the first time this legislative session, Maryland Department of Agriculture Secretary Buddy Hance has opposed a bill to require an economic analysis on changes to phosphorus application.
The bill is similar to two others Hance has testified on, but neither time did he take a favorable or unfavorable opinion. The bill, sponsored by mid-Shore Delegate Addie Eckardt, is “vastly different” from the others and would cause some issues for the department, Hance said. READ MORE
