Manure into drinking water? Dane County wants to try

October 22, 2015, Dane County, WI – New technology that can turn cow manure into drinkable water could be coming to Dane County in 2016.
County Executive Joe Parisi proposed spending $500,000 to install a system on a manure digester near Middleton to remove almost 100 percent of the phosphorous from manure and produce clear, pure water.
Aqua Innovations of Beloit has been chosen to install the treatment system at the “Cow Power” digester, owned by Gundersen Health System. The plan requires County Board approval of the funding in the 2016 budget. READ MORE
