Fines: Iowa business agrees to pay $7,000 fine

Feedlot Service Company of Neola, IA and its owner have agreed to pay a $7,000 civil penalty to the Iowa Department of Natural Resources (DNR).

According to the DNR’s enforcement actions page, Feedlot Service Company and owner Fred Roane were accused of applying solid waste and manure on property near Neola. The complaint, logged in February 2023, alleged that the paunch manure was being applied on an area with too high of slopes, too close to a creek and too close to a well.

The business and owner have agreed to follow Iowa Code in the future and pay a $7,000 civil penalty.
