Aug. 30, 2011 – Sens. Tom Carper and Chris Coons and Rep. John Carney (all D-Del.) announced $848,424 to help Delaware farmers convert manure to energy to generate income and improve water quality in the Chesapeake Bay.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture’s (USDA) Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) funding, which will be distributed by the National Fish and Wildlife Foundation to Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, Pennsylvania and West Virginia, is one of 52 grants totaling $22.5 million awarded to the winning 2011 Conservation Innovation Grants (CIG) proposals.
