– The University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and
United Dairymen of Idaho are sponsoring free workshops on phosphorus
management for Idaho dairies from November 18 to 20 in Preston, Burley,
Jerome and Caldwell.
November 6, 2008, Idaho Falls, ID – The University of Idaho College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and United Dairymen of Idaho are sponsoring free workshops on phosphorus management for Idaho dairies from November 18 to 20 in Preston, Burley, Jerome and Caldwell.
Workshop participants will learn phosphorus-managing techniques such as adjusting feeds, sampling manures and calibrating spreaders.
Speakers include Charles Stallings, extension dairy scientist at Virginia Tech, and April Leytem, a U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS) soil scientist from Kimberly.
Interested producers can attend:
- Nov. 18 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University of Idaho’s Franklin County extension office in Preston
- Nov. 19 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the University of Idaho’s Cassia County extension office in Burley
- Nov. 19 from 4:30 to 7 p.m. in the Messersmith Building at the Jerome County Fairgrounds in Jerome
- Nov. 20 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Educational Center of the University of Idaho Caldwell Complex, 1904 E. Chicago St., in Caldwell
