February 2, 2011, Chicago, IL – BiOWiSH Technologies recently received organic certification from the Washington State Department of Agriculture (WSDA) for BiOWiSH™Manure and Odor Treatment for swine and poultry.

The approval to use BiOWiSH on organic farms in the U.S. now provides swine and poultry producers with a 100 per cent natural product that reportedly reduces the environmental impact of confined animal feeding operations.

“It paves the way for certification of our entire product range,” said company CEO Rod Vautier. “Receiving our first organic certification is a great milestone for BiOWiSH Technologies .”

Vautier added that the all-natural BiOWiSH technology has many applications in agriculture. Not only does it reduce emissions and help minimize pollution in water bodies, it can also improve production, he said.

“Organic certification is particularly good news for poultry producers, as it is the first organic product to reduce ammonia in poultry houses,” said Ian Smith, senior EVP of animal agriculture for BiOWiSH Technologies.

According to the company, BiOWiSH is a blend of biocatalysts that breaks down complex organic molecules to help eliminate waste, remove odors and improve water quality, among other uses.
