April 23, 2009, Olympia, WA – A new state law will require dairy operators to keep their manure management records for five years instead of three.

The law was signed by the governor this week and takes effect in 2011, according to a report in the Yakima Herald-Republic. If dairies do not keep appropriate records, they can be cited for not following the legislation.
