CAFO numbers up in Maryland, Delaware
The number of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) is up in Maryland and Delaware.
April 23, 2009 – The number of Concentrated Animal Feeding Operations (CAFOs) is up in Maryland and Delaware.

According to a recent report in American Farm, the number of CAFOs in Maryland has jumped from 13 to 460 in one year. In Delaware, the number of CAFOs has climbed from 17 to 345 since last year.
The increase is the result of the Environmental Protection Agency’s 2008 clarification of what constituted as a discharge.
