WA dairies get no relief from federal suits

April 5, 2016, Olympia, WA – The budget Washington legislators sent March 29 to the governor includes money to help dairies manage manure, but doesn’t provide a shield against federal lawsuits.
The dairy industry, stung by a federal judge’s ruling last year that manure could be classified as a hazardous waste and faced with new state Department of Ecology rules, looked to legislators this year for relief. READ MORE
