September 16, 2013, Corvallis, Ore. – With 350 milking cows and more than 800 animals, Huls Dairy northeast of Corvallis produces a lot of poop.
Each lactating cow eats about 80 pounds of feed a day to go along with 30 or 40 gallons of water, but produces just under 80 pounds of milk and 120 pounds of waste every day. That adds up to 28,000 pounds of milk and 42,000 pounds of manure produced daily at the diary. READ MORE
