In a bid to reinforcing its business strategy in North America, AGCO Corporation recently announced a restructuring of its RoGator and TerraGator distribution strategy.

Four Caterpillar dealers that currently distribute AGCO’s Challenger product line have now assumed responsibility for new machinery sales of TerraGators and RoGators: Altorfer Incorporated, Butler Machinery, NMC and Ziegler Ag Equipment, all of whom already provide after-the-sale parts and service support, will become the single source for new machinery sales in the Midwestern U.S. agricultural markets of Illinois, Iowa, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

Currently, TerraGators and RoGators are sold through a direct sales model, while parts and service are provided by select CAT dealers.
AGCO’s intent is to transition the TerraGator and RoGator sales team to the four dealers, to maintain existing sales momentum, their strong customer relationships and their extensive product and market knowledge base.

“We listened to our customers,” says Steve Koep, vice-president of AGCO’s application equipment division. “They told us we needed to provide better support and this distribution strategy is more consistent with the way they currently purchase agricultural machinery. Now our customers have one dealer resource that is focused on taking care of them from the beginning of the buying cycle and these CAT dealers are committed to providing the best in customer support throughout the life of the machinery.”
