Biodigester could energize NY region

February 5, 2014, Morrisville, NY – Manure, food waste, crop residue and bacteria generally aren’t pleasant topics of discussion.

But at Morrisville State College, they — along with beer — could mean jobs and energy savings.

Through the NYSUNY 2020 Challenge Grant Program, a biodigester and brewing institute are coming to the college. Morrisville was one of three colleges awarded $5 million each to develop commercial-scale, one-megawatt biodigesters using waste such as manure to create energy. READ MORE
