S&S Ag Enterprises LLC near Sturgeon Bay, Wis., has submitted a
permit to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for plans to construct an
anaerobic digester system, which will convert manure coming from its calf barns
to electricity.

permit to the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources for plans to construct an
anaerobic digester system, which will convert manure coming from its calf barns
to electricity.

The farm at S&S is
already permitted for up to 6,000 heifers. The proposed waste to energy plan
has the potential to generate 710 kilowatts of electricity per hour that will
be returned to the electricity grid.
