Having recently moved from the Great Lakes to the Great Plains to work for and with Nebraska farmers, Cordova has teamed up with a diverse group of researchers, stakeholders, and practitioners to build resilient farms and improve Nebraska soil health. Currently, she is an assistant professor and soil health Specialist at the Department of Agronomy and Horticulture, University of Nebraska-Lincoln, and an active member of the Long-term Agroecosystems Research Network (ARS-USDA).

Amy Millmier Schmidt

Dr. Amy Schmidt came to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln as an Assistant Professor and Livestock Bioenviromental Engineer in 2012 and has been a full Professor since 2023. She has a split appointment between the Department of Animal Science and the Department of Biological Systems Engineering, and is also a courtesy graduate faculty member in the School of Natural Resources.

John Lauzon

John Lauzon’s research focuses on nutrient cycling and management within the agroecosystem. His specific current interests include: the evaluation of manure management strategies to decrease losses of nutrients and bacteria to the environment and improve the agronomic availability of the nutrients, and investigating spatial variability of soil nutrients and plant response. He is currently collaborating with several individuals within the University of Guelph.

Chryseis Modderman

Chryseis Modderman is a crops extension educator with the University of Minnesota’s department of agriculture and natural resources systems, with a special focus on manure. Some of her areas of interest include manure management, sampling and testing, advanced nutrient management and composting. She has been a longtime column contributor to Manure Manager Magazine.

Anthony Brusa

Anthony Brusa holds his PhD in bioinformatics and population genetics. He has been a postdoctoral associate and researcher at the University of Minnesota since 2018. Dr. Brusa takes a multi-disciplinary approach to research; bridging the gaps between traditional population scale biology, modern molecular techniques, and high throughput computer simulations. His primary interest is on on applying bioinformatics tools to solve interesting problems.
