Mexican hog farm blamed for flu

April 29, 2009 – Residents in La Gloria, Mexico, believe a nearby hog
farm, 50 percent owned by Smithfield Foods, is the source of Mexico’s
current flu outbreak.

April 29, 2009 – Residents in La Gloria, Mexico, believe a nearby hog farm, 50 percent owned by Smithfield Foods, is the source of Mexico’s current flu outbreak.

Citizens of the town believe the spreading of seine manure caused the respiratory illness they experienced about one month ago.

Officials at the farm say they have found no sign of swine flu on the farm.
