With farm composting proving to be a potential profit center for farm operators, many farmers have already made an additional revenue source out of the rich compost created by a variety of readily available on-farm feedstocks.

The CG-610 and CM-710 composting machines from Ag-Bag Systems have been developed to assist farmers who want a dual purpose machine. These machines are able to put up bagged silage as well as compost.

The Ag-Bag Environmental CM-710 Compost System is designed for the large volume operator who uses a dump truck, live floor or front-end loader for filling. The CM-710 works in conjunction with the EcoPOD, which has a storage capacity of 200 tons or 500 yards per EcoPOD.
Equipped with a 10’ wide and 10’ long conveyor platform, the CM-710 is hydraulically powered to transport material into the rotor packing teeth. The platform has both forward and reverse control, as well as up to 90” of travel per minute. The compaction rotor is 8’ wide with 1’ quadra-staggered fingers.

As the EcoPOD fills, this motorized machine is self-propelled forward and compaction is controlled with the braking system. Compaction control is essential to maintain porosity. The CM-710 is equipped with all the aeration conduit necessary to insert the piping within the EcoPOD concurrent to filling. An inoculant applicator distributes starter bacteria to accelerate the process.
