"We are so pleased to be able to celebrate 20 years of World Pork Expo," says Bryan Black, National Pork Producers Council president and a pork producer from Canal Winchester, Ohio." Just as the industry has evolved, the World Pork Expo has grown over the years to be a worldwide showcase for the pork industry."

In honor of this milestone, NPPC has redesigned the official World Pork Expo website and included online registration for advance admission purchasing.

"One of the new things that we'll be doing this year is registration of attendees," Black says. "When you register, your name tag serves as your admission pass for all three days of the show, so if you've pre-registered online, you can just pick up your name tags and head on into the show. Producers can even have their name tags sent to them in advance, so they can just come right in the gate."

The 20th Anniversary World Pork Expo events will include:

    * Marketing Information Center
    * Environmental Information Center
    * Educational Seminars
    * Employee Care Center
    * Farm Toy Show and Sale
    * Breed Shows and Sales
    * Lunch at the Big Grill Daily
    * World Pork Open Golf Tournament
    * World Pork Open Sporting Clay Championship
    * And much more!

Pork producers are encouraged to make a point of staying around for Friday evening, featuring musical entertainment presented street-dance style on the Grand Concourse. The entertainment will begin at 3:30 with the Street Band, a rock cover band from Webster City, Iowa, followed by country favorites, Highway 101 with special guest, Sweethearts of the Rodeo, and wrapping up with headliners, the Broadway Beatles Tribute.

"This is a very special World Pork Expo," Black says. "Today's economic situation is challenging, but World Pork Expo brings producers the chance to learn about the science, products and partnerships that will help weather these short-term pressures and, over the long term, have a positive impact on the next 20 years of their business and the industry as a whole."
