Wisc. DNR considers dairy permit renewal

September 23, 2013, Pierce, WI – State and federal scientists plan to test the safety of manure irrigation on a small area of a Kewaunee County farm as a part of the farm’s renewed pollution control permit.

Ebert Dairy Enterprises LLC has proposed a Wisconsin Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (WPDES) permit with the Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources in the town of Pierce in Kewaunee County. A section of the permit describes manure irrigation research practices that are proposed to take place on the corner of County D and County K. A public hearing took place on Sept. 5 where those interested could receive information and make a statement about the project. READ MORE
