WI town passes manure-spray restrictions

October 8, 2013, Sturgeon Bay, WI – The Sturgeon Bay Town Board recently gave the green light to writing an ordinance that will ban the aerial spraying of manure on farm fields, making the community the first in Door County to act on the issue.

The Clean Water Action Council of Northeast Wisconsin has been pushing for regulating the spraying. The group urged the Town Board to act as part of an effort that has several other towns on the peninsula — including Gardner, Nasewaupee and Sevastopol — considering restrictions. READ MORE
