WI DNR asks farmers not to spread manure

January 10, 2013, Madison, WI – With unseasonably warm temperatures and rain coming, farmers in WI are being asked not to spread manure on fields to reduce the risk of it running off into streams and/or groundwater.
The National Weather Service issued a high risk advisory for manure runoff over the next three to 10 days, prompting the WI Department of Natural Resources to encourage producers to hold off spreading manure until the risk is lower. READ MORE
