The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources is adamant about regulations
against spreading manure on wet fields. It’s also always been clear that
farmers must test every field that is likely to be wet in the spring for how

different idea, one the DNR is considering letting it test out. The dairy would
like to test just a handful of fields, and use a mathematical formula to
determine what other fields are wet or dry, based on those sample tests.
