Kennewick, WA – Easterday Farms has made a three-year pledge to Washington
State University Tri-Cities totaling $225,000 to conduct research on turning
farm waste into energy.
The money will be used to
support research being conducted at the Bioproducts, Science and Engineering
Laboratory at WSU Tri-Cities. The gift will fund an Easterday graduate research
fellow to focus on anaerobic digestion of cattle manure and other agricultural
waste, including onion culls. The goal is to establish biogas yields and other
value-added byproducts for use and commercialization.
