WA dairies don’t like proposed change to permit process

November 2, 2015, Yakima, WA – Yakima Valley dairy farmers are not pleased with proposed new state water quality regulations for large livestock operations.

Under the proposal, nearly all dairies and other confined animal feeding operations, CAFOs, in the state would be required to get a water quality permit for the first time that would mandate additional monitoring of manure storage and field application. READ MORE
