WA county agency adopts air policy for dairies

June 17, 2013, Yakima, WA – The Yakima Regional Clean Air Authority has decided to mandate that Valley dairies take steps to reduce pollutants from their operations and will now consider banning the spraying of liquid manure during burn bans.

Supporters of the spray ban say manure should not be airborne at times of poor air quality. Although the authority’s executive director recommended against exploring a spray ban, the board agreed to begin the process to consider such a rule. READ MORE
