U.S. pork board releases manure protocols for PEDV

September 9, 2013, Des Moines, IA – Given the recent confirmation by the U.S. Department of Agriculture that porcine epidemic diarrhea virus (PEDV) has been identified in the country, the National Pork Board has released biosecurity protocols for manure pumping.
PEDV is spread through infected feces and can survive in manure for extended periods of time.
