The co-located Biomass Power Generation Brazil conference will investigate the potential of biomass-fired power and bioelectricity generation across Brazil. Representatives from leading utilities, developers, investors, feedstock and technology suppliers will come together to hear first-hand case studies on developing power plants, finance, fuel supply chains and the latest developments biomass sector.

“As Brazil has set ambitious, near-term goals to phase out the use of fossil fuels for power generation, we’re seeing an increasing number of utilities and energy intensive industries converting existing coal fired plants or building new biomass powered plants,” said Chaudhry. “This forum will allow all stakeholders in the power industry to come together and address challenges and opportunities in sustainably fulfilling Brazil’s growing power needs.”

Biomass Power Generation Brazil will feature sessions investigating cogeneration feedstocks including sugarcane bagasse, energy crops and purpose grown biomass, wood-based biomass, and municipal solid waste. Other key issues such as biomass pellet markets, carbon emissions, policy, economics, and price dynamics will be dissected throughout the conference by speakers from federal and state government, private industry, and nonprofit environmental organizations.
