Tests ongoing in NY after manure runoff

September 24, 2013, Canandaigua, NY — Watershed officials continue to investigate the effects of manure that washed into Canandaigua Lake near Woodville in late August and early September.
Residents on Coye Point off Route 21 on the lake’s southwest side reported the pollution after a rainstorm Aug. 27 washed manure spread on a farmer’s field into the lake from Coye Point Stream. It’s believed a second storm on Sept. 2 washed more manure into the lake. READ MORE
