May 29, 2015, Chambersburg, PA – If you’re interested in seeing manure handling and application equipment in action, the 2015 North American Manure Expo – scheduled for July 14 and 15 in Chambersburg, Penn. – is the place to be.

More than 90 manufacturers and service providers will be exhibiting their wares as part of the annual expo’s trade show, open 5:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on July 14 and 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. on July 15. Many exhibitors have also signed on to demonstrate their products and services.

On July 14, attendees of the expo’s dairy and/or agitation tours will have an opportunity to compare equipment during pit agitation and lagoon boat demonstrations at Burk-Lea Dairy. A selection of lagoon pumps will be operating in the dairy’s concrete pit while the boats will be kept busy churning the contents of an earthen lagoon. There will also be an opportunity to watch a demonstration of dragline manure application.

On July 15, demonstrations will be held at the expo site, located on the Lesher Poultry farm off Ingram Drive in Chambersburg, Penn. Things will kick off in the field starting at 10:30 a.m. with solid manure spreader demonstrations. An opportunity to see compost equipment in action will also be held over the course of the day. Liquid manure application demos will occur in the afternoon from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. followed by a live spill response demonstration using actual dairy manure for full effect.

The North American Manure Expo prides itself on its demonstrations, providing for vendors to unveil and showcase new technologies and/or models while allowing attendees the opportunity view and compare equipment in action.

“Nowhere else can this audience kick the tires in such a large forum,” said expo co-chairman Robb Meinen, a senior extension associate in Penn State's College of Agricultural Sciences who specializes in nutrient and manure management.

Of course, Manure Expo is about more than demonstrations. It also features a full day of commodity specific tours, an outdoor “Miniature Manure City” trade show featuring more than 90 exhibitors, and a line-up of educational opportunities for highly intensive livestock producers and custom manure applicators alike.

Registration is now open. Drop by to learn more and sign up for the tour of your choice. You, too, can enjoy having “Manure than You Can Handle.”
